David Barton, of WallBuilders has used Bible Memory Challenge flashcards to teach his own children the Ten Commandments. Several years ago, he also strongly encouraged us to proceed with the production of our Bible Alphabet flashcard set with excerpts from the New England Primer, America’s first textbook. After seeing a sample set, he gave our ministry permission to use actual reprints from the 1777 version of the primer available at the WallBuilders web site—wallbuilders.com.

Over the past five years, we have produced more than 130,000 laminated, pocket-sized Bible flashcards for our country’s armed forces including the Air Force, Army, Marines, and Navy. We thank the Lord for having had this privilege to sow the Word of God into so many of our troops.

The directors of Bible Memory Challenge were so blessed by Michael and Debi Pearls book, To Train Up a Child, that we wanted to capture the Bible verses and comments of this excellent teaching in a pocket-sized flashcard set. We are thankful to report that Michael and Debi Pearl have reviewed this set and given us permission to offer it as a Bible Memory Challenge product. One of the things I am most thankful to my parents for is their investment in training their children to memorize Scripture from a very young age. My mother created a small “Life Recipe Notebook,” as she called it, filled with pages of verses on index cards, organized by theme (controlling anger, practicing purity, honoring parents, etc.). Each morning, when our family sat down for breakfast, we would learn one new verse from the notebook, saying it together until we were confident we could mull it over through the day and commit it to memory. Mom’s memory tool really helped us to see how Scripture discusses themes from cover to cover.
